As a successful CNC 5 Axis Miller you'll be responsible for manufacturing short batch parts and components to tight tolerances.

Job Title: Toolmaker/ Manager
Reporting to: Factory Manager
Our client is looking for someone to design, manufacture and maintain tooling to support the production of cold pressed components
Daily duties:
• Design and manufacture tools to enable the production of presswork with hand presses, bowers and power presses
• Maintain tools to ensure continued production to drawing
• Assist with the production and maintenance of tooling for CNC machines
• Ensure adherence to stringent quality requirements and processes
• Work in collaboration with the production department to get the tooling set up for manufacture
• Use the ERP system to record hours logged as appropriate
• Work closely with the Quality department to ensure that product and associated paperwork are in line with the expectation
• Ensure workspace remains clean, tidy and safe at all times

Responsibility for maintaining and co-ordinating the Quality management System in a sub-contract machining company. Providing operational level support to management team in various aspects of business.


Key Skills/attributes/role demands

• To be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2000
• Ideally must have gained experience from similar environment (i.e. sub-contract machining industry).
• Must have good communication skills and be able to represent the Company in any contact with customers or suppliers.
• To provide additional support/assistance to management team in various aspect of the business (i.e. during times of holiday/absence)
• Preparation & management of Process control documentation in line with Quality Manual & Procedures.
• Full understanding of practical inspection techniques and equipment used.

• Ensure 'right first time' principles and encourage culture of continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist mechanical knowledge
• To advise the site manager on engineering works and plan as needed

• Maintain accurate job and service records

Skills:

• Mechanical - (C&G) Part 1 + 2 Mechanical or NVQ level 3 Mechanical City & Guilds or Level 3 Diploma in Engineering- Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning.
• Certification in welding an advantage
• Conveyer systems and robotics would also be an advantage
• Competent in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Demonstrate a good track record of achieving results.
• Experience in planned Preventative Maintenance Systems
• Experience of working with an Ammonia Refrigeration Plant would be an advantage
• Previous experience working within production
