The Role:

Responsibility for maintaining and co-ordinating the Quality management System in a sub-contract machining company. Providing operational level support to management team in various aspects of business.


Key Skills/attributes/role demands

• To be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2000
• Ideally must have gained experience from similar environment (i.e. sub-contract machining industry).
• Must have good communication skills and be able to represent the Company in any contact with customers or suppliers.
• To provide additional support/assistance to management team in various aspect of the business (i.e. during times of holiday/absence)
• Preparation & management of Process control documentation in line with Quality Manual & Procedures.
• Full understanding of practical inspection techniques and equipment used.
• To produce quality documentation (inspection reports etc.) in an accurate and timely manner.
• Evaluation, justification and advice on the purchase of new/replacement equipment.
• Ensure 'right first time' principles and encourage culture of continuous improvement.
• Working with management team for Contract review, including APQP, FMEA and PPAP.
• Use of SPC techniques to determine capability & process control.
• Experience & Knowledge of Motorsport/Aerospace requirements and the associated standards would be an advantage.
• Analysis of Non-Conforming products, management & resolution of issues in line with Quality procedures.
• Responsible for Internal Audits

The Role

The position of Supply Chain Planner requires you to ensure all aspects of the supply chain are coordinated efficiently and accurately, playing a key role with the overall coordination of order output on time and in full.

Responsibilities:

Control of stock including control of the supply chain, stock management and logistics.
Ensuring that stock checks are completed, are accurate and are communicated effectively.
Ensure that stock availability is communicated and acted up on.
Ensure that stock is allocated correctly.
Analyse customer orders and provide timely feedback to the Operations Manager and Production Supervisors.
Ensuring that Production operations are fully aware of order requirements in a timely manner.
Liaise with the relevant departments regarding clearance and inter-site transportation of produce arrivals.
Tracking supplier performance and providing analysis on a weekly and monthly basis.


The Person
The successful candidate for the Supply Chain Planners position will have the following experience:
Degree educated or equivalent - Desirable
2 - 3 years' experience - Essential
Proven experience of working to strict deadlines with the ability to accurately and methodically multitask - Desirable

Day to day duties will include the following:
• Surface grinding
• CNC Turning (Fanuc)
• CNC Turning, Milling, and Wire EDM
• Wider opportunities exist in the company for candidates wishing to develop further within the business and attain multiple skill sets or become a TEAM LEADER
• Bespoke Drilling, Reaming and Milling Tools (normally 1 off - 5 off) in High Speed Steel and Tungsten Carbide
• Working to tight tolerances
• Carrying out own inspection
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
• Experience in all these disciplines or cutting tool production is not essential, as training will be available for the right candidate.
• Experience in a similar capacity within an engineering workshop / Toolroom environment is DESIRABLE.
• Candidates must have a methodical approach, be able to interpret engineering drawings
