Main Purpose of the Role
Working for a very fast growing e-commerce business operating globally with plans to grow further, this is an exciting opportunity for you to own the role and progress as the company grows. You will oversee and manage our operations process maximising productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities and duties
Manage stock control and inventory checks and be responsible for entire stock flow within the operation
Full control of warehouse and wage budgets
Be responsible for the inbound, pick and outbound operations
Designing, maintaining and implementing effective processes & procedures to improve inventory records accuracy
Document procedures for third party monitoring
Ensuring accurate and useful data collection and reports for warehouse activity /productivity
Recommending strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality assurance and customer service standards, resolving problems.
Develop warehouse operation systems by determining product handling and storage requirements.
Developing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures
Developing processes for receiving products, equipment, utilisation, inventory management and shipping
Develop warehouse design by planning layout and product flow, product handling system and recommending new equipment.
Develop warehouse system by suggesting improvements by analysing process work flow, equipment layout and implementing changes
Keep up to date with legislation changes that may affect the operation of the business
Ensure health and safety regulations are met and adhered to
Negotiate shipping rates & keep up a good relationship with existing or new shipping couriers
And any other duties required by your manager
Person Specification
Experience of managing large teams
Proven success in improving warehouse systems and processes
Experience with WMS Systems and setting one up
Minimum of 5 years management experience for e-commerce business in a warehouse / logistics environment
Analytical and problem solver
Willingness to learn and grow with the company
Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues;
High level of concentration;
Strong communication skills with all levels
Professional, tactful and friendly attitude;
Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
Excellent team working skills, be a strong leader
Be commercially minded and results driven
IT literate / Excel skills
