This is a key position in a growing machinery manufacturing and international distribution company. You will share control of all inventory and a complex supply chain with the operations director. This will include management of the team and the purchasing of everything for the business from the raw materials through to machine parts and consumables. You will also Contribute to the planning and implementation of a new ERP system and ensure compliance with all health & safety and company policies and procedures within the department. CIPS / Purchasing and Supply qualifications could be very useful in this role, which will be working weekdays and office based.


Duties include:


Planning & scheduling material requirements to meet production expectations.

Maintaining optimum stock levels and locations.

Ensuring stock accuracy & integrity of inventory records.

Controlling stock taking & perpetual inventory.

Ensuring purchase orders are raised & placed correctly.

Investigating & adjusting stock discrepancies.

Maintaining competitive costs for purchased goods.

Resolving any supplier invoice queries.

Liaising with internal and external suppliers.

Creating new supplier trading agreements.

Expediting orders to ensure required delivery dates are met.

Maintaining accurate transaction records related to the Purchasing, Acknowledgement, Goods receipt, Picking, Kitting & Issuing of inventory.

Providing user training.

To be considered for this position you will need to have the following skills & experience


Extensive experience in Stock Control & Procurement.

Must have a high standard of education and numeracy.

Microsoft Office skills including proven advanced Excel skills.

Operating ERP / WMS systems, experience implementing them would be advantageous.

A detailed and structured analytical approach to problem solving.

Being a motivator of people who instils drive and commitment within teams.

Passion for continuous improvement and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a very busy environment.

Will need to be highly organised with excellent time management skills.

Ability to converse confidently with colleagues at all levels.
