Job Details
oResponsible for the efficient operation of your area within the Manufacturing function;
oTo provide support to the Manufacturing Manager with the day-to-day management of your manufacturing area.
oProvide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets,
oKey Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer.
oDevelop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Delivering manufacturing excellence by ensuring:
opeople and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards
othat team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements
othat we maintain full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices at all times
oall records are completed appropriately
othat non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated
othat the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed
oAchievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets.
oThat the team are aware of day to day targets and responsibilities
oManage work order closures and stock control transactions
oMaintain visible lead for adherence to procedures and instructions
oMonitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools including calibration
oSupport root cause analysis and resolve problems
oIdentify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
oConduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
oResponsible for day to day management of team including absence management, holidays and training of operators for products and processes within the local team
oConsistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
oSupport, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures

Experience and OR Qualifications Desirable
oBTec first certificate or equivalent NVQ level 2 qualification
oSix Sigma Qualification
oMinimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing environment
oCompetence in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
oDemonstrable evidence of leading a team
oAbility to communicate with employees at all levels of the business
oUnderstanding and ability to work in an SME
oLean manufacturing/kaizen experience
oERP systems knowledge

Our client specialise in maintenance, repair specialist restoration work on large commerciasl vehicles and Steam Engines. Our premises are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery allowing us to cater to almost any requirement. Services offered include specialist CNC machining, vintage restoration and cylinder & crank grinding refurbishment.
Due to rapid growth we are looking for a CNC Setter Operator Programmer to program and run CNC machines. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and be ready to take on a challenge as a lot of are jobs are one offs which makes the job so varied and rewarding
Being a family run business, we try to get away from the factory felling of a work shop. We are more like a team. A lot of our work is special one off's and we do some small batch work

Day to day duties will include the following:
_Setting and operating XYZ miller and XYZ lathe with siemens control
_Experience working with large commercial cranks and cylinder heads (Grinding experience a bonus)
_Experience with a horizontal borer a BONUS
_Good Toolroom background experience a BONUS

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience
_CNC Programming: 1-year experience
_Milling Turning experience
_Experience on XYZ lathe with Siemens control
_ Experience of working on large commercial crankshafts

Our Client based in the midlands is looking to recruit an Senior/ Principle Civil Engineer. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career in a driven, forward thinking and successful environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will join the business, and will design a variety of infrastructure schemes as well as

Architectural Metalwork Draughtsman: Our client are manufacturers of high quality bespoke architectural metalwork, specialising in bespoke staircases, architectural balustrades and feature metalwork. They require a CAD Draughtsman to join their team based in the midlands, previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Role involves following designs from conception to completion working closely with all parties, a strong competency with 2D and 3D CAD packages as well as experience with steel staircases will be highly advantageous when applying for this job.
This is a pivotal role for someone to become the lead designer for the company and advise on best design programme to use.

Experience with the following would be beneficial-
-fabrication experince
- ladders, balustrades, glass and stainless balustrades
- broad spectrum of metalwork experince preferable

Structural Engineer
• Take part in a courses / personal development tasks as set out by the Business
• Continually develop knowledge working your mentor to move towards membership of the ICE and ultimately chartered status;
• Produce designs for the company's products to relevant codes and standards. Substantiate designs with formal calculations for internal and external review
• Assist the estimators and designers in preparing Quotation / Proposal documents and produce structural schemes as required.
• Interpretation of architects and structural engineer's drawings.
• Attend meetings without support and to speak about technical issues and promote the company. To be smart in appearance and conduct all affairs both inside and outside your normal place of work in a professional and efficient manner that promotes the Company and enhances its reputation;
• Have in depth knowledge of building physics relevant to market sectors to ensure technical liaison with Architects, Engineers, specifies, contractor and approved installers on all design and technical issues;
• Ensure that the requirements of CDM are followed;
• Work with designers to implement and interpret engineer's schemes
• Check drawings and calculations/ Review and interpret technical drawings
• Use and develop design tools in various software packages to increase efficiency specifically experience with AutoCAD is desirable
• Sharing experience and knowledge and putting forward improvements to engineering teams

• A degree qualification in engineering is required;

• Demonstrate sound reasoning, engineering judgement and problem solving skills
• A sound knowledge and experience of working on load-bearing structures, off-site prefabricated structures and light gauged steel frame.
• Working knowledge and experience in using Euro codes and British standards
• Be aware of the requirement to work as part of a team. Adopt a flexible approach to workload whilst demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work. Deliver administrative records on time and up to date;
• Knowledge and skill in using design spread sheets etc.as necessary and the ability to handle data

Candidate description
We are seeking an experienced structural steelwork designer/CAD engineer,
familiar with a variety of structures including steel buildings, platforms,
mezzanine floors, stairs, walkways etc.
Experience and practical knowledge are much more important than qualifications
and the ideal candidate will have 20+ years working in structural steelwork and
miscellaneous metalwork, must be comfortable and confident with simple
member and connection design.
Would ideally have experience of TEKLA Design/CAD products but more
important to be capable of simple calculations and explaining/producing sketches
and notes to communicate ideas
We would like a candidate who can solve problems and visualise designs from a
variety of different perspectives and suggest alternative solutions. Must be
capable and willing to share and communicate ideas with staff, customers and
other engineers
The position would be ideal for an experienced engineer who would like to share
their knowledge and collaborate with others
