Day to day duties will include the following:
•Soft and Hard Turning on CNC Webster and Bennet Vertical borer, Doosan 900VTL and Massa 1200VTL
•Setting, Programming and operating a range of CNC Vertical turn/mill centres
•Use of CAD/CAM to assist programming (training can be given on our Dolphin Software)
•Manufacturing Bearing components and precision components
•Working to drawings provided ensuring all work is of the highest standard
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•Experienced in programming Fanuc,
•Experience in setting work, tools and editing programs
•Excellent knowledge of programming codes
•Insert selection knowledge essential
•Ability to Work on large components.
•Previous hard turning experience
•Ability to use CAD/CAM (advantage not essential)
•Suitable candidates should be fully experienced in the relevant discipline's and be able to demonstrate specific product and technical knowledge
•Ability to self-inspect and measure using micrometres, Vernier's, depth micrometres etc.
•Minimum 2 years' experience in programming and centre lathe turning

The Role

The Quality Engineer will be required to report to the Quality Manager in handling the day to day duties as required. The successful candidate will also be required to possess a general knowledge of environmental and health & safety

Responsibilities will include:

Reviewing quality issues with shift Quality Controller and Production staff, conduct product process audits on parts and submitting quality reports.
Attending weekly quality improvement meetings whilst presenting continuous improvement recommendations.
Conducting PPAP, control plans, gauge studies, process flows diagram & process capability studies for new and existing parts.
Reviewing and amending failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA) and support the project team with all new business.
Formulating action plans to investigate and analyse customer returns to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent future failures.
Raising internal 8D's as appropriate.


The successful candidate for the Quality Engineers position will have the following:

2 - 3 years Quality Engineering experience - ESSENTIAL
Knowledge of working with IATF/16949 or TS16949, PPAP's, FMEA's, control plans, auditing and implementing corrective and preventative actions - ESSENTIAL
Using hand held measuring equipment - ESSENTIAL
Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word

JOB PURPOSE:

My client who is a leading global logistics company are recruiting for a Shift Manager (nights) to manage all aspects of both warehouse and transport operations based at their Bristol site, ensuring route compliance and legal obligations are met.

You will be integral to ensuring customer service targets are met as well as monitoring contract operational and financial performance by sue of KPI's, MPG, VOR. You will be tasked with maintaining operational standards in line with company / BU expectation as well as promoting a culture of openness, by carrying out team briefs and PDRs, also to identify and action training needs for your direct reports. The role will also require you to manage all shift requirements of the logistics operation in particular the transport and cross-dock function with own account and third party.

Day to day duties of the Shift Manager will include:

•Ensure compliance to all operational procedures.
•Provide a safe system of work through the following controls; risk assessments, manual handling assessments, VDU and complete all relevant documents i.e. MV1, AF1, IF1, and RIDDOR.
