We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of a well-established and rapidly expanding automotive manufacturer based in Coventry. This is a fantastic time to join this flourishing business who have increased supply into several of their major OEM customers which has led to record sales for the business in 2017.
The role:

First point of contact for all customer concerns, ensure prompt and robust containment is implemented internally and at customer site. Issue and track quality alerts. Owns the process for completing 8D/PPS for customer concerns, has excellent problem-solving skills to ensure any corrective actions taken are correctly implemented to ensure repeat concerns do not occur.
Day to day duties will include the following:
_You will report into the Quality Director, working within a team of 12 in the Quality department
_Take responsibility for the upkeep of Quality to customers, working closely with many prestigious OEM Automotive brands
_Responsibility for solving problems utilising 8D / Practical Problem Solving (PPS) techniques
_Adhering to TS16949 at all times
_Documentation of parts/products through PPAP/APQP/MSA
_Updates Process Control Plan and inspection instructions in line with any issues
_Raising, monitoring and reporting on supplier concerns
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
_Previous experience working within the Automotive Industry (Essential)
_Extensive problem-solving skills (Essential)
_Experience of interfacing with customers (Advantageous)
_Internal Auditing Experience - TS/IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO9001 (Advantageous)
_You will have experience of working closely with customers, resolving customer quality concerns (Advantageous)
_A strong understanding of quality tools such as 8D/PPs, APQP/PPAP/MSA (Advantageous)
_Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including understanding of GD&T (Advantageous)
_Willing and able to visit customer sites sometimes at short notice (Essential)

Our Client is the world leader in the provision of high precision dimensional metrology equipment, instruments and systems capable of accurately measuring to sub-micron level. In the UK they supply, install and support this equipment via staff based at 4 sites - Andover (HQ), Coventry, Halifax and East Kilbride.

Based at either the Andover or Coventry Metrology Centres, this role will deliver existing accredited C&G Metrology Units to a wide range of ages and abilities at any of our UK Training facilities (Andover, Coventry, Halifax or East Kilbride) or on site at customer premises as well as to identify and develop further units.

This role would suit an CMM/Metrology Specialist who is looking for further progression within Metrology environment. Our client offers a chance to gain full training in a precision metrology software.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Training companies and personnel on best and correct use of equipment
•Technical support on Metrology equipment
•Using production and inspection techniques
•Work independently representing the company at our own sites and at customer premises
•To actively assist in resolving Application Support Calls using the CRM System
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•An excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal. (essential)
•Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or have production shop floor/quality control experience. (essential)
•Be confident in using measuring equipment, particularly Mitutoyo, CMM's or have transferable skills - specific training will be provided where necessary. (essential)
•Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and appreciation of dimensional metrology. (essential)
•Experience in working within a C&G accredited centre. (advantageous)
•Experience in resolution of Technical Support calls. (advantageous)
•Experience in the use of Microsoft Office; windows functionality and excellent keyboard skills. (essential)
•A willingness to learn, be very well organised, flexible and self-motivated and to travel. (essential)
