JOB PURPOSE:
To work within the Safran Aircraft Systems Cell and produce precision machined components to customer and quality specified tolerances using best practise modern methods. To contribute to the team and help to develop and maintain best practices.
Day to day duties will include the following:
•DAY TO DAY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
•Working within the SAE manufacturing Cell
•Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation
•Working to structured manufacturing plan
•Responsible for setting and operating of 5 Axis Turn Mill machines
•Responsible for quality output
•Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
•Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers Vernier caliper's height towers shadow graphs CMM etc
•To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

•Working to production time lines in a manufacturing environment
•Working with SOP's and Company specific documentation

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving the Supply Chain product quality; managing process improvement and new product introduction.

Day to Day responsibilities:
•Proactive engagement with nominated suppliers to manage quality performance
•New Product Introduction supplier development & qualification process confirmation • Supplier process capability studies
•Management of non-conforming parts including containment, investigation and subsequent 8D process
•Technical liaison between suppliers and Bromford on part or process issues, ensuring timely resolution and close out
•Supplier PFMEA and DFMEA documentation generation, submission and approval
•Process improvement and cost down project management with suppliers
•Quality and Supplier related KPI's and Business review participation
•New ways of working - e.g. release at source for onward processing etc.

The successful candidate for the Supplier Quality Engineers position will have the following experience:
•Previous experience working within a Supplier Quality role - Essential
•Educated to HNC or equivalent within a relevant engineering discipline - Desirable
•Lean manufacturing and six sigma experiences - Desirable
•Experience with PFMEA & DFMEA documentation - Essential

The Role

First Line management role reporting to the General Manager. Must have previous knowledge and experience of maintaining Quality Management Systems ISO9001 & AS EN 9100. Hands on role carrying out Calibration, Final Audit Inspection of product. Implement Internal Auditing Programme in line with company quality system. Maintain KPI's, Quality - Cost - Delivery.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Leading Management role in carrying out and maintaining the Company Calibration System and Internal Audit programme.
•Carry out various component verification using a comprehensive range of hand held measuring equipment. Also using Shadowgraphs, projectors and Non-Contacting Microscopic means via Vision System. Take Casts to measure internal characteristics.
•NCRs & CARs
•Interface of the shop floor & management - 70% Management / 30% Hands On
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•Minimum of 3 years in a similar quality role within the automotive / aerospace supply chain in a Tier 1 supplier capacity (Advantageous)
•Be able to demonstrate successful introduction / maintenance of Quality Operating Systems ISO 9001 and AS EN9100. (Essential)
•Understanding of engineering drawings and understand dimensional characteristics, tolerances and metric / imperial units. (Essential)
•Background in Mechanical / Precision Engineering (Advantageous)
•Must be fully accomplished and experienced in the use of all types of measuring equipment, including the full range of micrometres, (internal, external, depth & bore micrometres - mechanical / digital) Vernier gauges in both Imperial and Metric units, use of plug gauges shadow graphs and non-contacting measuring equipment e.g. Vision / Keyance or similar.
