We are seeking a highly motivated individual ideally from the high precision and CNC machining industry to support and assist the daily production machine shop activities. This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to plan, program, set and implement machining tasks on a variety of Fanuc Control CNC machines. A strong background in manual machining techniques would be an advantage along with supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:
_Constructing and proving CNC programmes for new components.
_Assist the production engineering team in the design and commissioning of fixtures and tooling necessary for machining new components.
_Training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of the defined processes.
_Assist with the management and planning of production / workload in accordance with business priorities.
_Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality and delivery objectives.
_A good knowledge of appropriate cutting data for machining a variety of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron and naval brass.
_Skills / Competencies

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
_Strong knowledge of the equipment within a machine shop, experience of manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances on CNC machines, lathes and millers.
_The ability to program both driven Y, C axis lathes and more essentially vertical milling machine centres.
_A good knowledge of CNC programming techniques, production fixturing and production tooling design
_Ideally have experience of both turning and milling on manual machines and demonstrate hands on capability.
_Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player
_Knowledge of CMM machines particularly Faro would be an advantage
_Knowledge and understanding of Fanuc control systems
_Ability to set and operate as required.
_Knowledge of TPM programs an advantage
_Ability to provide solutions to decrease cycle times and overcome day to day machining issues.
_Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
_Ability to understand interpret engineering drawings
_Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment
_Maintain a safe working environment ensuring all company procedures are followed.
_Commitment, dedication and willingness to succeed and progress is a must
Education and experience:

Ideally the successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical and / or Production Engineering, however candidates who have considerable experience are also encouraged to apply.
CNC programming and setting experience is essential (Fanuc controls)
Understanding of lean manufacturing (TPM, 5S, ETC)
General computer skills

Day to day duties will include the following:
• Set and Run proven programs, adjust work and/or tool co-ordinates and correct any errors.
• Set tools and produce 'First off' parts to the correct quality.
• Carry out 1st off inspection from engineering drawings and update paperwork.
• Ensure the cell output is made to the agreed schedules.
• Ensure the quality of the machine output is to required specification
• Apply machine maintenance as per schedules.
• Co-operate and liaise with all other areas when required.
• Ensure 5's is maintained in the cell and other areas.
• Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability including possible secondment to work in other areas on the shop floor.
