We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of a well-established and rapidly expanding automotive manufacturer based in Coventry. This is a fantastic time to join this flourishing business who have increased supply into several of their major OEM customers which has led to record sales for the business in 2017.
The role:

First point of contact for all customer concerns, ensure prompt and robust containment is implemented internally and at customer site. Issue and track quality alerts. Owns the process for completing 8D/PPS for customer concerns, has excellent problem-solving skills to ensure any corrective actions taken are correctly implemented to ensure repeat concerns do not occur.
Day to day duties will include the following:
_You will report into the Quality Director, working within a team of 12 in the Quality department
_Take responsibility for the upkeep of Quality to customers, working closely with many prestigious OEM Automotive brands
_Responsibility for solving problems utilising 8D / Practical Problem Solving (PPS) techniques
_Adhering to TS16949 at all times
_Documentation of parts/products through PPAP/APQP/MSA
_Updates Process Control Plan and inspection instructions in line with any issues
_Raising, monitoring and reporting on supplier concerns
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
_Previous experience working within the Automotive Industry (Essential)
_Extensive problem-solving skills (Essential)
_Experience of interfacing with customers (Advantageous)
_Internal Auditing Experience - TS/IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO9001 (Advantageous)
_You will have experience of working closely with customers, resolving customer quality concerns (Advantageous)
_A strong understanding of quality tools such as 8D/PPs, APQP/PPAP/MSA (Advantageous)
_Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including understanding of GD&T (Advantageous)
_Willing and able to visit customer sites sometimes at short notice (Essential)

My client are a leading precision engineering company who manufacture niche tooling solutions require an experienced Toolroom Fitter for their busy operations.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Fitting / Assembly of Hydraulic Jigs and Fixtures (Essential)
•Carry out grinding, modification and assembly of fixtures using hand / power tools (Essential)
•Work from 3D Design drawings to customer specification for fixtures (Essential)
•Liase closely with other departments where required (Essential)

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•To have established machine shop experience, preferably from an instrument making or tool room background (Essential)
•To have established experience in mechanical fitting/assembly (Essential)
•To have experience hydraulic assembly (Essential)
•To have practical knowledge of basic sheet metal work and be competent at brazing\soldering (Advantageous)

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Refurbishment of gauge tooling and associated tooling (Essential)
•Utilising various types of hand tools and using traditional machining techniques (Essential)
•Reading and interpreting drawings (Essential)
•Manufacture, assemble and test precision measuring equipment (Essential)
•Use system and processes to manage measurement equipment throughout the process (Essential)
•To support the measurement activities by operating CMM machines (Essential)
•To support the die checking activities by scanning dies (Essential)
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•Toolroom or bench hand experience modifying dies and fixtures (Essential)

A well-established design and manufacturer of bespoke pressings, welding's and assemblies who have been established for over 65 years are currently looking to recruit a Toolmaker to join their in house workshop.

Suitable for: Tool Maker, Tooling Engineer, Workshop Engineer

The Role

As a Tool Maker you will be responsible for making, servicing and maintaining press tools for the production facilities

Responsibilities will include:
•Tool splitting
•Disassembly and reassembly of tools
•Replacing component parts, dies, punches and springs
•Tool regrinding
•Problem solving and tool improvement
•Must be able to work on own initiative
•Proven efficiency with working practices
•Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments
•Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
•Attention to detail
•Equipment used: overhead crane, forklift truck (a licence would be beneficial but not essential), grinders, milling machines, pillar drill, lathe and general engineering equipment
•Ensure that all tooling records are updated and complete
•Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
•Do not place yourself of any employee in danger by your actions
•Notify your Manager of any dangerous hazards or risks you become aware of
•Wear the PPE recommended for your job
•Observe and comply with all sign, notices and communications directed at maintaining a safe working environment
•Observe good housekeeping, it is your responsibility to keep the area clean and tidy
•Segregate rubbish in the correct containers
•Keep your tools clean and tidy and return them to their correct place after use
•Ensure that good quality product is produced to a high standard
•All parts produced are correct to drawing

The Person

The successful candidate for the Tool Makers position will have the following experience:
•Apprentice trained - Desirable
3 - 5 years' experience working within a Press tool environment - Essential
•Experience working to automotive quality standards - Essential
